Community Involvement

About Mike Elam

Mike grew up in Berryville, Arkansas, and attended college at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. After college, he joined the Naval Reserve and served as a Hospital Corpsman.
Since moving to St. Charles County in 1991, Mike has become an active member of the community and has served in many leadership roles with organizations like the O'Fallon Chamber of Commerce and Industries, the Barnes Jewish St. Peters/Progress West Hospital Foundation Board and the St. Charles County Businessmen's Prayer Breakfast Board. He served as President of the St. Charles Noonday Rotary Club, and the Assistant Governor of five Rotary clubs in St. Charles County. He is currently a member of the St Charles Sunrise Rotary club, and a member of 3 area chambers. Mike also emcees for a variety of fundraisers and community events, including Mo Cowbell, and the Mayor's Prayer Breakfast.

For the past 30 years, Mike has worked in the communications industry, for both radio and television companies, and is currently the Vice President of Community Affairs and Market Development for i3 Broadband. Mike also has an active voiceover business and is heard daily on radio and TV stations across the area. He was twice named as the Best Male Voice in St. Louis by the Marconi Radio Awards.

Mike Elam was appointed in April 2013 to serve District 3 on the St. Charles County Council, and currently serves in that role. His proudest accomplishment on the council was getting a Port Authority established. This allows St Charles County to apply for grants from the state and others, and recoup millions of tax dollars back into the County for economic development and infrastructure projects.

A resident of Dardenne Prairie, Mike has been married to his wife Jennifer since 1991 and they have three children – Jon, Josh and Megan, his daughter in law Natalie, and grandson Cason.
